Biography

John Cornick was born in about 1836 in Somerset, England, United Kingdom. He was the son of Harry Cornick.

John (~23) married Theresa Weech on 5 Mar 1860 in St Mary, Upton, Devon, England, after banns.^[1][2][3] The image on Findmypast spells Theresa's surname "Wich"; John's occupation was trunk maker; his father's name was Harry and he was also a trunk maker; Theresa's father's name was John Harvey Wich, and he was a labourer. The witnesses were: unreadable Dibbins and Elizabeth Martin.

Their son was John Weech.

John died in Mar quarter 1866 in Langport, Somerset aged ~30.^[4]

Have searched using FreeReg, FamilySearch, FindMyPast and Ancestry, including Family Public Trees but not including Ancestry's Worldwide Membership, but to no avail regarding sources. Pickup-178 08:39, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

• Sources found for marriage and death. Marriage cert gives ages of the spouses so DOB can be inferred from it. Death cert also gives age.
• I have not been able to yet find a source for son John Weech in 1858 on
• GRO records. Research required to find if this son exists.
• There is a Henry Cornick b. Jun 1861 in Tiverton with mother's maiden name WITCH. Could this be a son?^[5]
• There is a William Henry Cornick b. Mar 1866 in Langport with mother's maiden name WELCH. Father John died in Langport about the same time. Could this be a son?^[6]
