Willeroo Station[1][2] was granted to Francis's father Robert in 1824, and was formally granted to Francis and his brother James in 1835. James and Francis lived on and managed the property. The property is about 5 km south of Currawong (Currawang) and 19 km south east of Collector.[4]
About twelve miles from Osborne's is Willeroo, the station of Cooper Brothers. The station is on the banks of Lake George, and about sixty square miles in extent. About 14,000 acres of land are purchased. The station carries about 18,000 sheep, and 1100 head of cattle. Much of the land is well grassed, excellent for pastoral and agricultural purposes.
The residence of the Messrs. Cooper Brothers (who, by-the-bye, are the best of good fellows-free hearts and open hands) is a large two-story building of brick, situated in a fine position, commanding a good view of the lake and the surrounding country.
A few miles beyond I reached the Currawang Copper Mine, twenty-one miles from Goulburn, which have been fully described in the Town and Country Journal.[3]
