Biography
Augustin Collins was born in about 1767 in Mobile, Alabama, United States, son of Julia Villars, and probably Josef Collins.
He married a free woman of color, in August 1788, performed by Father Miguel Lamport. Margaret Chastang, daughter of Dr Chastang and Louison.
They had a child Celeste who was baptized in 1789, and they had 9 other children. Two of them, Isabell and Polite, would later develop relationships with white men.
In the 1850 census Augustus Collins (age 80) was in Mobile, Mobile, Alabama, United States.[1]
