Biography

Thomas married Margaret Foxe on 2 October 1575 on All Hallows Lombard Street, City of London, London, England.[1] Their children included:

  • Anne
  • Magdalen
  • Katherine
  • Thomas (1582)
  • Richard (1584)
  • Jane (1587)
  • Henry (1588)
  • Elizabeth (1589)
  • Joan (1589)
  • John (1594)

Baptisms for most of the children took place in the church of St Mary Woolnoth, City of London, where Thomas was a haberdasher and, several times during the 1590s, one of the churchwardens. [2]

Thomas appears to have been widowed in 1624, when his wife Margaret was buried at St Mary Woolnoth. [3]

He was named in the 1625 will of his son in law Raphe Burnett, who was draper. [4]

Thomas left a will dated 5 September 1625, describing himself as being a citizen and haberdasher of London. [5] He made bequests to and mentioned:

  • my son in law Raphe Burnett
  • my daughter Joan Ferrers, widow
  • my daughter in law Hellen Clarke
  • her children Francis, Anne and Katherine
  • my daughter Jane, wife of George Mainwearing
  • my daughter Anne Rudd
  • my daughter Katherine Fisher
  • my son Richard Clarke

Thomas was buried at St Mary Woolnoth on 26 November 1626. [6]

Clarke-13594 and Clarke-6854 appear to represent the same person because: These are meant to be the same person. I was about to add spouse Margaret Fox when I found she already had a profile. I have added detailed sources to Thomas's profile. There are a couple of duplicate children and some will also need to be detached as they don't belong in this family. Cheers, Elizabeth
