Biography

Youngest of two children of James Clifford Clark and Asa Ellen Harmony.

She was aged 1 in 1920, when the family was living in Hutchinson, Reno, Kansas.^[1]

She was aged 12 in 1930.^[2]

In 1940 Virginia was age 22.^[3]

Virginia married Richard McKim 24 Dec 1941 in Hutchinson, Reno, Kansas.

She grew up in the Hutchinson area, where she attended school and graduated from Hutchinson High School and Hutchinson Junior College. She received her teacher certificate from Emporia Teachers College. Mrs. McKim taught school with her husband in the Union 5 near Sterling for two years. They moved to the family farm near Morrill, where they worked for many years. She also taught piano lessons to many students and 10 of her 11 grandchildren. She was a member of Ayore Church in Morrill, where she taught Sunday school for 50 years. She married Richard "Dick" Glen McKim on Dec. 24, 1941, in Hutchinson. He died Oct. 24, 2003. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Tara Ploeger.^[4]
