Robert Chamberlayne Gent was born in Warwickshire, England.

Birth and Parentage

Robert Chamberlaine of Arley Gent. was the youngest son of Richard Chamberlayne of Astley, Warwickshire and Elizabeth née Harcourt. ^[1][2]

He had two older sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret, two older brothers, John, Edward and a younger sister, Jane.

Life

He never married and had no children,^[1]but it seems that he owned land in Arley, near Astley and leased a messuage in the manor of Astley, in Astley and Bedworth, Warwickshire, at a rent of £20 per annum to William Wale of Astley, yeoman on 15 June 1626 for 61 years or life. ^[3]

Death

He died in the Low Countries some time after 1629. ^[1] He may have been involved in fighting against Spain there.
