Biography

John was born in 1749. He was the son of Gardner Caskey and Elizabeth Blair. John's will is dated 19 September 1785 and was recorded 16 Aug 1786 in Kershaw, South Carolina, United States.^[1] The will has bequests to wife Ester, daughters Ezebell Caskey and Marey Caskey, four sons. He directs "my Negro fellow Named Terk," wagon, still and 2 horses are to be disposed of at the discretion of his executors. He bequests his wife one hundred acres of his plantation to fall to his daughter Ezebell at her death. The remainder of his land containing 350 acres to be divided equally between his four sons. To his daughter Marey he bequeaths "my Negro Wench Named Keat."
