John and Ester Givens Caskey arrived at Charleston, South Carolina in 1772 with one child from Ireland.[1]
They settled in Camden District, Chester County, South Carolina.
They had four sons and two daughters:
John Caskey died December 5, 1785.
John's will is dated 19 September 1785 and was recorded 16 Aug 1786 in Kershaw, South Carolina, United States.[2]
The will has bequests to wife Ester, daughters Ezebell Caskey and Marey Caskey, four sons. He directs "my Negro fellow Named Terk," wagon, still and 2 horses are to be disposed of at the discretion of his executors. He bequests his wife one hundred acres of his plantation to fall to his daughter Ezebell at her death. The remainder of his land containing 350 acres to be divided equally between his four sons. To his daughter Marey he bequeaths "my Negro Wench Named Keat."
Ester Caskey remarried in 1793 to a Mr. Graham.
I have included a photo of a monument at Catholic Presbyterian Church cemetery listing John Caskey as a Revolutionary soldier. It is located in Blackstock, Chester County, South Carolina. This cemetery is also the burial site of John Caskey.[3]

There are no dates for John on the plaque at right put up by the DAR to commemorate Rev. War soldiers from the area.
John is one of the persons named on the plaque as a Revolutionary soldier from the Catholic Presbyterian Church.
There may be a tombstone for him too.
Message rec'd: "John Caskey was my 7th Great Grandfather. He born circa 1745 in Ballymoney, Ireland and he died 12/5/1785 in Rocky Creek, Chester, South Carolina. According to "South Carolina Patriots in the American Revolution", he was recorded as having served under Captain Adams and Colonel Lacey during the Revolutionary War."

John's will recognizes daughters Mary and Ezebelle and 4 sons: Robert, John, Thomas, and Joseph H. This memorial lists a son, Richard, who it says was born in 1850. John, his father, died in 1785.
