Jacob Call was born in 1772 likely in Virginia (but in what would later become Kentucky).
In Oct 1825, married male Jacob Call was admitted to the Lunatic Asylum (Eastern State Hospital) for symptoms of mania that he had for over a year. The following spring he hung himself.[1]
Jacob died on 20 Apr 1826 in Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky, United States, aged 53. He was buried in Eastern State Hospital Cemetery, Lexington, Fayette County, Kentucky.[2]
From the Lexington, Ky., Gaz., April 21, On yesterday morning Judge Call was found dead in his room in the Lunatic Asylum, suspended by the neck to one of the iron sashes, by means of his handkerchief and suspenders. No suspicion had been entertained by the keepers of his having any intention of putting an end to his existence.

US Congressman. Born in Kentucky, he graduated from school, studied law, and was admitted to the bar and practiced in Vincennes, Indiana, and Princeton, Indiana. He was named as a Judge of the Knox County Circuit Court and served from 1817 to 1818, and 1822 to 1824. A Jacksonian, he then entered politics and served Indiana's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives from 1824 to 1825. After leaving politics he resumed his law practice. On April 20, 1826, Judge Call was found dead in his room at a local Lunatic Asylum. He had hanged himself with his handkercheif and suspenders. He was around 54 years old.
