I have always been interested in history...family history in particular. I was fortunate to grow up in a family who had frequent gatherings where well-told stories were shared and fondly remembered. Names of long-gone ancestors became familiar. I was blessed.
My education was in foreign languages and classroom education. My career was in education as well as in a local organization of 1500 advertising and sales executives as an executive secretary, setting up organizational meetings, planning seminars, public speaking classes, and producing and distributing to members a weekly house organ.
A member of Daughters of the American Revolution since 1983, I served as registrar and chairman of the genealogical records committee. I held a state office as genealogical records chairman.
For the DAR, I published 11 family histories book plus one on Indian history of members; several Indexes of family data with sources and photocopies of public documents.
About 2003, I began with familytreedna and collaborated with cousins to prove family connections. The first project was very successful and led to two more projects with very surprising results.
I love researching my family which I did the 'hard way' by visiting cemeteries, courthouses, hometowns, and state archives. Today, I still wonder at the ease and phenomenon of on-line research.
I admire the premise of Wikitree! I respect the policy of courtesy and collaboration.

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.
Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.
Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.
Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
