He married Martha C. Self, daughter of Nathaniel and Parmelia (Loggins) Self,[1]
He was a farmer when he and Martha appeared on the census of 15 June 1880 at Walker County, Alabama.[2]
John died on 22 Aug. 1890 probably in Walker County, Alabama and was buried at Williams Chapel Cemetery, Powellville, Walker County, Alabama. His memorial has photos and links to those of family members.[1]
