He was a farmer in No. Stonington and Chesterfield, Conn. He was in the War of 1812 and responded to the call for the defense of Stonington Aug 9-10, 1814, in the Third Company; Jesse Breed, Captain; Wm. Frink, Lieut.; Dudley Brown(205), Ensign. The company consisted of forty man, officers and privates. For his services he received a United States land warrant of 160 acres of land.
