Biography

Herbert Brown was born in Kexborough in 1919 ^[1]

Herbert married Doreen N Pollard in Brighton district in 1945 ^{[3] [4]}

The wedding took place on 20 Jan 1945 in St Wilfred's Church, Brighton. Herbert was shown as the son of Mr and Mrs H Brown, Town Farm Cottage, Bretton, Wakefield, Doreen was the eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs J Pollard of Brighton ^[5]

Herbert died on 16 April 1945, and is commemorated at The Runnymede Memorial. He was a flying officer with the Royal Air Force. The squadron was based in Iceland during 1945, so Herbert may have been flying over the Atlantic Ocean when he died.^[6].
