Research Notes
I couldn’t find the burial record for his first wife Sarah Wild, although it is quoted in a number of trees there was no source. For this reason, we cannot be certain that the same Matthew Brown married both Sarahs. However, we have a possible christening for Sarah Wild in Ashton under Lyne (just four miles from Newton) whereas the Sarah in the census records was born in Pudsey, Yorkshire and whilst there is a matching christening for Sarah Swift in Pudsey, there is no match for Sarah Wild. Hence the later children certainly belong to Sarah Swift and the earlier ones to Sarah Wild.Hardman-1532 12:20, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
