Anthony George Bridges was born in 1905 in Armadale, Victoria, Australia. He was the fourth (but second surviving) son of William Bridges and Edith Francis. [1] Anthony was just ten years of age when his father, then Major General Sir William Bridges, died of wounds received at Gallipoli. His father had been knighted the day before he passed away so from that time Anthony's mother became entitled as Lady Bridges.
Anthony married Dorothy Alexander on 14th February 1957 – St Valentine's Day, but was it celebrated as such back then – in Scots Presbyterian Church, Collins Street, Melbourne, Victoria. [2][3]
Anthony donated his father's papers to the University of Canberra Library. [4]
Aged about 78 years, Anthony passed away in 1983 in Prahran, Victoria. [5]
