William was born in 1921. He was the son of William Brainard and Sarah Carney. He passed away in 2013.
Obituary
He was a son of William B. and Sarah (Carney) Brainard.
He attended Massena High School and was drafted into the Unites States Army Air Force during WWII. Buzz served his country proudly and was Honorable discharged.
He was married shortly after returning home to Darlene Prashaw on June, 21 1947 at St. Mary's Church in Waddington. He was a maintenance and Zamboni driver at the Massena Arena when he retired in 1983. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed spending time with his family in the Adirondacks and at Lake Eaton camping.
He was survived by his wife; children William F. Jr. (Pam) of Portsmouth, VA; John T. (Dianne) Brainard of Union City, PA; Mary Jane (Kim) Lauzon of Indianapolis, IN; Anne Marie (Wayne) Fleury of Massena; Robert J. (Jean) Brainard, Brasher Falls; Richard G. Brainard, Massena; Daniel E (Sharon) Brainard Portsmouth, VA; Cathy (Jerry) Anderson of Raleigh, NC and Crystal (John) Williams and Kevin J. Brainard both of Norfolk and a sister, Elma LaForce of Massena.
He was predeceased by a son, Timothy; a granddaughter, Melissa Brainard; a grandson, Sean P. Brainard; a brother, John G. Brainard; and two sisters, Beulah Donnelly and Evelyn White.
