Guy Blanchette was born in Canada on November 30, 1946. He was the son of Gerard Blanchette.
Sergeant Blanchette served with Battery A, 3rd Battalion, 197th Artillery Regiment, 23rd Artillery Group, Second Field Force, United States Army Vietnam. He began his tour on September 16, 1968.
Guy was killed in action on August 26, 1969 in Binh Duong, South Vietnam while serving the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was killed along with four other National Guardsmen, all from Manchester, New Hampshire.
Sergeant Blanchette was buried in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester, New Hampshire.
