James was born about 1639 in Gloucestershire, England. His parents are at this time unknown. His exact death date is unknown, however he is known to be living in January 1696/7.[2]
James married Sarah Barker in Charles City County, Virginia, as her third husband, after October 1684 when Sarah (Barker) Lucy is recorded acting as administritrix of the estate of Robert Lucy, her second husband.[3] They had no known children.
