He married Edna Flora Burkhart on 12 February 1914, in Cumberland, Allegany County, Maryland.

They were the parents of at least 1 son.

Edward died on 26 March 1965, in Lake Oswego, Clackamas County, Oregon, United States, at the age of 80, and was buried in Tigard, Washington County, Oregon.
