Deborah, Thank you so much for sharing your research on the Kirks/Montgomerys. Since you are a Bell, perhaps you can answer a question for me. Charles Franklin Montgomery married Cyrena Bell (my grandmother's spelling). Since several of his siblings married Bells, I'm wondering if Cyrena was a sister/cousin to them and whether you can identify her parents? All I have found is Goodspeed's Arkansas description that her family was in early Kentucky. Thanks, Angela
Hi Deborah! I just posted a message to you on Bell-1226 and then realized you wouldn't necessarily see it:
Do you know if SAR requires proofs on parents? DAR only verifies to the patriot ancestor, although some people include ancestors beyond the patriot in their application.

VERY IMPORTANT:
The more documents, sources, dates, and locations you provide on the profiles you create, the stronger our global tree will be. If you don't know the correct date, please estimate using before or after.
Since you're new to genealogy, there are a few more tips on my profile page if you'd care to take a look.

I'm happy to have found this site and will do my best to post current information for my family. I've only started working on family genealogy this year 2013.
Kirk brothers John and Stephen---
