Pvt James Bell was KIlled in Action during The United States Civil War.
Pvt. James Bell was born 1 October 1828, Scotland, he lived in Du Quoin, Illinois at the time he enlisted with the Union Army on 1 August 1862. He mustered into Company A, 81st Regiment, Illinois Infantry on the 26th of August.[1][2]
Pvt. Bell was killed during the Vicksburg Siege on 27 May 1863. He is buried in the Vicksburg National Cemetery, Section G, 4445.
