Biography

Homer Bartley was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Homer was born December 28, 1932 in Pike County, Kentucky. The exact location of his birth is not known, but more than likely, as with many other members of his family, he was born in the Marrowbone/Lookout/Bowling Fork area of the county.

He was the son of Eli Bartley and Simelda Owens. He was the 3rd and last child born to this couple.

Homer served as a Private in the US Army in Korea.

He was married at least 3 times.
1. Barbara W. 'Bobbie' Meek. They had 1 child, a son named Terry.

3. Nancy Lou Pinson

Homer was found dead in his truck parked beside the turn-off to Harless Creek Road at Regina, Kentucky. He had been dead for a day or 2 when he was found. It was determined he had passed away on October 6, 1990.

Homer is buried in the Bartley Family Cemetery on Bowling Fork Road, Pike County, Kentucky.
