David Bare was the son of Jacob Bear and Barbara Rankin. He was born in 1785 in Augusta, Virginia[1][2]birth year calculated from tombstone inscription: age 52 years.
On 10 May, 1810 David Married Sally Sara Ray in Augusta Cty., VA by Rev., John McCue[3][4][5][6]. From 1810 to 1818, David was on the Augusta Cty, VA tax Rolls[7].
In 1817According to one source he was in Clark Cty IN[8]. However in 1818 the land he shared with brother Jacob, Jr. in Camp Creek originally purchased by Jacob, Sr. in 1818. Transferred to both brothers in 1819[9]. The land reportedly consisted of 160 acres.
After 1819, David was in Camp Creek, Clark Cty., IN where with his brother Jacob Bare built a mill on the property[10]. He was also a farmer according to the 1820 census, see census below. On 24 May, 1821 David and his wife were members of Pisgah Church[11]. However, by 24 June, 1820, he was a member of the Presbyterian Church of New Washington, IN[12]Note: Walter Harrington have no idea if they were two separate churches or one. David passed away on 3 Jan, 1839 and was buried in Britan Cemetery, New Washington, Clark Cty., IN[13][14][15].
