Ole O Bakke Died of Disease during The United States Civil War.
Pvt. Ole O. Bakke was a resident of Pleasant Springs, Wisconsin. He enlisted with the Union Army on 21 August 1862 and was mustered into Company D, 23rd Regiment, Wisconsin Infantry.[1][2]
He died of disease at Milliken's Bend, Louisiana on 22 May 1863. He was originally buried in Louisiana and is now buried in the Vicksburg National Cemetery, Section H, 101.[3]
Research Notes
There was a 1855 census in Wisconsin that had Ole Olson Bakke head of family, 4 males/2 females in the household. [4]No additional records, no pension. Unknown family.
