Hugh Geddes Atkinson was born in 1924 in Parkes, New South Wales, Australia.
He was a well-known Sydney journalist and novelist.
Hugh married Phoebe Zellani nee Macarthur-Onslow in 1963 in Chatswood, New South Wales. [1] Living on Sydney's Northern Beaches, they were described as "an exceptionally handsome couple, popular party goers and party givers, elegant, stylish and with impeccable social backgrounds". In recognition of his contribution to Australian literature Hgh was made Emeritus Fellow of the Literature Board of the Australia Council.
He passed away, aged about 70 years, in 1994 at home in Camden, New South Wales.
