The Annual US Civil War January Challenge is to connect US Civil War Soldiers for the January Connect-a-Thon. This year will be a twist of what I usually do. Instead of you choosing a "Surname Letter", you will be choosing from a block of soldiers whom I've already screened that show they have family to connect. Each soldier has a connection to one or more of his immediate family--parents, siblings, spouses, children, on their profile. Whether you work on one soldier or your whole block of soldiers, it's one step closer in our goal to connect each of our US Civil War Soldiers. The goal is to make sure all these soldiers are connected at least by one or two degrees. You can sign up now by clicking this link: US Civil War Sign-up Chart
Thanks, Armistead-1150 Southern Super Sweepers
If you are signed up for our Project's Google Group, look for an email with the easy instructions on how to join. If you are on our Project's Discord Chat Channel, all details were posted under Announcements. (Please make sure to check your Spam folder as many have mentioned the Monthly Newsletter and other communication is landing in their spam.) Need to sign up for the Appalachia Project Google Group or Discord channel: Google Group and Discord Chat Channel
Hope to “see” you there!
Tabor
I also frequently place a listing of spouses, parents, and children, and sometimes siblings, depending on how many relationships the extant profile has. Some are without anything but the one person profiled. I search familysearch dot org and find a grave and use google to see what else is turned up and double check the Index for the Surname.
When I find siblings, parents, children, a list them on the person's profile. I include all that information so that others can profile the children, parents, spouses, etc
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Southern_Super_Sweepers It has, among other info, the thon's video chat schedule, and a link to the Southern Super Sweepers discord channel.
See you then!

Thank you D for participating in the US Civil War Challenge. You completed 86 profiles during the January Connect-a-Thon. There were 27 of us who signed up for the Challenge, completing 6,480 profiles.
The US Civil War February Challenge will be to create profiles for those soldiers who died during the Battle of Shiloh on the 7th and 8th of April 1862. If you're interested in joining another challenge, check out the US Civil War Challenge Page on February 1st.
Thank you again. Pam
I sent you a check-in message a week ago about the Military and War Project to ask you about your continued involvement but have not yet heard back from you. Do you still want to be in the project? If I don’t hear from you by the same time next week I’ll assume that you’ve moved on to other things but you’re most welcome to re-join the project at any time.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Best wishes,
Mary~ Project Coordinator, Military and War Project

I just happened to sign up first since I was on duty, but everyone has to answer individually to get badge. Thanks for joining up with us this year.
Thank you for your participation in October 2020’s Source-a-thon. Your contributions helped us to clear over 57,000 profiles that needed sourcing. This makes our Shared Tree all that much better.
Keep up the great work!

Thanks for the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree over the weekend. I hope you’ll join us for the Source-a-thon this fall.
Kind regards,
Pippin Sheppard ~ WikiTree’s Appreciation Team
G2G thinks you weren't logged in to WikiTree when you registered for the Monthly Sourcerers' Challenge. Would you please drop back in on your answer while logged in and add a comment, just to keep our administrative stuff straight.
Thanks,
Debi
Thanks so very much for your participation in the spring Clean-a-thon! Every suggestion you cleared made our Tree that much better. The WikiTree community appreciates YOU!

Reference you signing up for the Clean-a-Ton with the Super Sweepers: Now I know who you are from your post on the Super Sweepers Chat page, however the badge issurers won't know, the way it is showing up as only "Donna" with your IP number not your WikiTree profile ID info on the registration page.
You signed up on page 7 here: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1007803/have-you-registered-for-the-2020-spring-clean-a-thon-yet?start=120#a_list_title

Thanks so much. Dorothy B, Co-captain of the Super Sweepers team.

It has been a few weeks since we contacted you about your participation in the Disasters Project and as we haven't heard from you, we are following up to make sure you wish to remain a member.
We understand that interests shift as we grow our shared tree and that some members may have moved on to projects more pertinent to the branches they are currently building. If this is the case for you, please let us know.
If we do not hear back from you within the week, we will assume you have moved on to other things for the moment and remove you from the project. Please know that you will always be welcome to rejoin should your interests shift back in this direction.
Thank you so much for your participation; we genuinely appreciate it.
Regards Joan
Looking forward to working with you. Just let us know if you need any information from us.
Regards Joan
On behalf of the Disasters Project Leaders we are carrying out a check-in to see how all the members are doing and taking the opportunity to thank you for all your hard work in the past.
We have recently made a lot of changes. We are changing the focus of the project to include more about people involved in disasters and the effect it had on them and their families. We have divided the project into teams. Please have a look https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Disasters
Please let me know, by comment on my profile or a private message, whether you are still active in the project, and which team(s) you would like to work with. What are you enjoying most about being in the project? What would you like to see improved or changed?
We're looking forward to hearing back from you,
Joan and Lizzie
There are not many messages sent out, but it is there..
Thanks..
I shall mark you as active.
Check Mining Disasters Subproject and the Project page, the Space pages for Disasters have been changed to TEAM's to reflect the disaster types.
Mining_disasters is the tag you need to use for profiles involved in a disaster and if needed there is a sticker to place on the profile.
To Join the Google Group, send your email address to me on private msg to be added.
Thanks,
Mary
I am doing a six-month check-in with members to see if you were active in the last six months in Disasters Project. Please let me know, by comment on my profile or a private message, whether you are still active in the project.
How have you contributed to the Worldwide Mining Disasters sub-project or Disasters main project? (a contribution may be a space page for a disaster, disaster source, an edit for the space page, or profiles of people in disasters).
Have you any thoughts for other mining disaster space pages? Which subproject are you active?
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Mary ~ Volunteer Coordinator
You've been a member for about a week so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!
I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.
Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger
PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Thanks for taking our Pre-1700 Quiz.
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
