Nils Jørgen Andersen was the son of Anders Nilsen and was born at Ormsøya which lies just north of what is known as Nordherøy. Today, Ormsøya lies within Dønna parish. Although there are inconsistencies in the ages given by the various protocols, he is most likely the Nils Andersen who is recorded as the son of Anders Nilsen and Margrete Klausdatter, Nord-Herøy, in the baptism protocol for 12 Jun 1796.[1] The family is recorded in the census record for Nord-Herøy in 1801.[2] Nils Jørgen is recorded in census records from 1865 and 1875 at Åkvika. [3] Recorded at Titternes, Dønna, at his mother-in-law's probate in 1833.
Married #1 on 18 Sep 1831 to Margrethe Falk Jørgensdatter (1807 - 1835)[4]
Married #2 on 18 Sep 1836 to Johanna Maria Andersdatter[5]
Nils Jørgen's age is not consistent in the protocols. Census of 1865 gives age 66 -> 1799 Census of 1875 gives y.o.b 1798. Wedding #1 gives age 27 in 1831 -> 1804. Wedding #2 gives age 32 in 1836 -> 1804. However, none of these years gives any match in the baptism records for Herøy. The only match is in Herøy parish is the baptism of Nils, son of Anders Nilsen and Margrete Klausdatter, Nord-Herøy, on 3pTrin (12 Jun) 1796. Anders was baptised at home, and the church ceremony was the confirmation, which may explain why the second name Jørgen is missing.
The probate after Margrethe's mother mentions: Ingeborg Maria Larsdatter, m. to Jørgen Dass Jakobsen, Titternes
