Samuel (ראובן) Epstein has Jewish Roots.

Daughter-in-law Martha Berniker Epstein said he was born with the surname Rubin, but traveled to the US with relatives named Epstein & adopted the name. No certain immigration or naturalization records have been found (as of Dec 2022).^[1]

In the 1920 census Samuel (age 35), Sailor, was the married head of household in Los Angeles Assembly District 66, Los Angeles, California.^[3]
