My great Grandfather's name was John Patrick Connolly. born abt. 1851 in Galway, Ireland. His parents, siblings are unknown @this time. I have done a little research with Irish records & there are so many for Connolly, it is hard to comb through. He married Julia Davin in New Hampshire. She also was from Galway. They settled in Minnesota & had 8 children-one was a Peter F. Connolly, b. 1884 & married an Alvina Alfs. Too late to be your Peter. John Patrick Connolly is a brick wall for me, so he is as far back as I have gotten. Connolly is very often misspelled on records which makes the search hard. But, I'm not giving up & don't you either. These people were real & hopefully we will find a record some day! If I come across anything for Peter Michael, I will pass it along.

I have found my Michael Connolly. He and his family left Cork, Ireland in 1839 to go to Liverpool. Michael died there and is buried there. Peter Charles , my Great Grand father, went to Sheffield for work. He married an Ann Sweeney and had a family. My Grand father was their youngest child, Joseph Connolly, was in Attercliffe, Sheffield.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Shirley Dalton, WikiTree Mentor

June, you are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.

Have fun and ask for help if you need it! You might want to check out our Question of the Week for tips on how to grow your tree Aside from a person, what has been your absolutely best source of information?

If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.

See you in the branches –

Shirley

Welcome to WikiTree as a guest ~

You are not a full member of WikiTree until you read the initial email from WikiTree which has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree. Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Have a great day ! Maggie

I am the same person. Being new to the web site I find it difficult to follow in parts.

Turner-8000 and Turner-14330 do not represent the same person because: There is no evidence in the public profiles indicating this is the same person. Email addresses for the owner of one of the profiles also indicates they are on different continents.

Hi June,

A warm welcome to the WikiTree family! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used and it is FREE. WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.

Once you volunteer, one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

We’re really glad you’re here. More importantly, have fun growing your family tree and connecting to persons with the same interest.

Ludwig :)
