Lee Zito was enumerated as son of the head of household at 2100 Avenue K, Ensley, Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama for the April 6, United States Census, 1940. He was noted as born 1924 in Alabama and single as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are head Tony Zito, wife Mary Zito, son Mike Zito, daughter Marie Zito and daughter Josephine Zito.^[1]

ZITO, LEE A Lee A. Zito, 89, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tony and Maria Zito; brother, Mike Zito; sisters, Benita Cantavespre, Marie Antonio, and Josephine Graffeo. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy Pillitteri; children, Mary Jo Lusco (Larry), Anthony Zito (Janet), and Nancy Lee Jennings (Rusty). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Elmwood Chapel July 16, 2013 at 5:00 PM and Rosary at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ensley, July 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM followed by burial at Elmwood Cemetery. He was a humble and kind man loved by all and will be greatly missed.
