Biography
Joseph Zeller was born about 1826 in the German Confederation (apparently in the Kingdom of Württemberg) or Switzerland. He migrated to the United States before 1850 and lived in Pennsylvania.
Joseph Zeller died on 10 February 1900 at his home, 401 Randolph St in Meadville. His obituary, published in the Meadville Evening Republican on 10 February 1900 (page 1), states that he was about 70 years old; father to: Joseph and John, of Chicago; Stephen, of Canal Dover, Ohio; George, of Zanesville, Ohio; Mrs Collins of Chicago, Mrs Elizabeth Hart of St. Louis, Mrs William Patterson and Miss Harriet Zeller, of Meadville. His funeral service was held in St. Agatha's Roman Catholic church in Meadville.[1]
