Biography

Johann was born in 1667. He passed away in 1743. The first mention is the receiving list at St. Catharines Parish in London June 2nd. 1709. He was listed as a cooper 30 years of age. He came with his wife on June 27 1710. He was a soldier in the Queen Ann's war. He lived in Hartmansdorf N.Y. His son Hartman was named after the town's leader Hartman Windecker. He came to Tulpohocken Township Berks County Pa about 1729 and was among the founders of Trinity Tulpohocken German Reformed Church in Millersville Pa. He was not active in politics, but a man of the soil; a good ole German farmer.
