Rose was born in Minsk, Russia in July 1899, daughter of Rabbi Benjamin Zalesky and Clara (Kaufman) Zalesky. She came to the United States with her family in 1912. [1]
She married Archie Oscar Portenoy on December 2, 1923 in Manhattan, New York City, New York. [2]
She passed away on February 27, 1981 in New York.[3] She was buried in Beth David Jewish Cemetery in Belmont, New York. [4]
