Joseph Young was the son of Brigham Young and Louisa Beaman, and the twin brother of Hyrum Young.[1][2]
He was likely born in early 1846, as stated in some family records.[1] Many records cite his birth year of 1848,[2] but this is unlikely as his mother gave birth to another pair of twins, Alvah and Alma, on July 23, 1848. That birth date is supported by contemporary records.[1] Hyrum and Joseph both died young.[1][2]
