Biography

Hannah was a Friend (Quaker)

"Henry Wood... married secondly 1670, Hannah (Yokeley?) daughter of Michael and Joana (Cowell) Yokeley, of County Middlesex. They probably accompanied Arthur and Margaret Cooke to Rhode Island and settled at Newport, where the births of their children are recorded in the Friends' Meeting register of Newport. A daughter, Judith, is supposed to have been Henry's daughter by a former wife."^[1]

Place of birth is set as "Middlesex, England" per the 1922 article in the Woodbury Daily Times.

Death

Hannah was still living 14 Nov 1694 when her son Henry wrote his will.^[2]

Clement wrote that she died about 1695 in Gloucester, New Jersey.^[3]

Research Notes

There were apparently two contemporary Michael Yokelys in Thanet, Kent.

Michael Yokely of St John's

"Michael Yokely" and "Joanna Cowell" were married at Saint John in Thanet, Kent, England" (now apparently St John the Baptist, Margate, Kent) on 27 Aug 1626.^[4]
