Dr. Benjamin James Yerger was an American educator and scientist. He was the first African-American to be admitted to the University of Arkansas’ School of Medicine and the first African-American employed by Chevron Research Laboratory.
He married Bobbeyette A Walker on 8 Sep 1957 in Contra Costa County, California. They later divorced on May 1974 in Alameda County, California.[1][2]
He later married Charlene Ann Harrington on 8 September 1976 in Reno, Washoe, Nevada, United States.[3]
Benjamin died on 5 Feb 2014 in Berkeley, Alameda, California aged 83 and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Oakland, California.[4][5]
