Kimberly A. Yale died in her home early Friday morning from metastatic breast cancer. She was 43.

Ms. Yale was born in Evanston, Ill. Her father was a chaplain in the Navy and she lived in various locations in the U.S. and abroad before her family settled in Evanston again in her teen years. She married her husband in 1987 and they moved to Morris County in 1993.

Ms. Yale was a freelance writer, editor, essayist and poet, working largely in the comics related field. She edited Star Trek comics for DC and worked with such characters as Batman for DC and the X-Men for Marvel Comics. She also worked to promote women working in the industry and was a member of the national board for Friends of Lulu, a national organization promoting women in comics. She had an ongoing column in the Comic Buyers' Guide, an industry newspaper, in which she chronicled her battle with breast cancer. She also worked at the Joe Kubert School in Dover.

She is survived by her parents and by her husband. Arrangements are by Tartaglia-Lanterman Funeral Home, Morristown, N.J. The funeral will be Tuesday at Church of the Redeemer, 22 South St., Morristown. (Note:Names of living persons removed.)^[1]
