Biography

Karen (Wright) Pendleton was born in Appalachia, in Kentucky.

Karen Pendleton, Mount Sterling, Ketucky passed away on February 12, 2018. Just a month from her 67th Birthday. She was Married February 11, 1972, to Sidney Pendleton. Karen grew up in Salt Lick, KY; and loved riding horses, going on many trail rides with her friends. Karen Jo Wright Pendleton, Age 66, of Mt. Sterling, KY, died Monday, February 12, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born March 15, 1951 in Lexington, KY; to the late James Wheeler and Everetta (Stephens) Wright.

Karen was a long time resident of Mt. Sterling, and she moved there upon her marriage forty-six years ago. She was a homemaker and the BEST mother/grandmother ever. She was a lover of the Lord and a member of Rolling Hills Church of Christ. Karen loved her community and embraced those she came into contact with as her family and close friends. She loved to cook and serve others. Her joy in life was to see the joy in others. Karen enjoyed passing out "Happy Day" gifts daily. She was a lover of nature and "Enjoyed the Beauty of Each Day!!!"

Survivors include; her beloved husband, Sidney Pendleton, Jr. of Mt. Sterling, KY; one daughter, Cicely Amburgey and her husband Rob of Mt. Sterling, KY; one son, James Benton Pendleton and his wife Lauren (Reisinger) of Salt Lick, PA; three grandchildren, Rhett Amburgey, Sidney Shea Amburgey and Oaklee Amburgey, all of Mt. Sterling; one sister, Vicki Amburgey and husband Mike of Owingsville, KY. and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Send a Child to Camp, Rolling Hills Christian Bible Camp, 125 Rolling Hills Drive, Mt. Sterling, Kentucky 40353.

Funeral service will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 10:00AM. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, both services at the Rolling Hills Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Jones Cemetery in Salt Lick, Kentucky. Officiating will be Danny Murphy and Jerry Carmichael.

Pallbearers: Stevie Stamper, Nacy Stone, Preston Hardee, Justine Highley, Josh Fawns, Joe Donaldson, Corey Frye and Brant Thompson.
