Biography

Lloyd was born in 1906. He was the son of Charles Wright and Bertha Johnson. He passed away in 1997.

In 1933 Mom and Dad moved from Calgary to the farm in the Kinnaird District, the nearest town being Kitscoty, Alberta. Dad had gone to Calgary Technical School to become a mechanic, but with his bad leg he was finding it more and more difficult to be crawling under the cars, which they had to do way back then. Grampa Wright bought the farm in 1923 and built the house, barn and chicken house but they only stayed a couple of years as Grampa kept moving around and so the family would go too. We left the farm in 1939 after Dad had learned telegraphy from Mr. Sheldon, the retired operator who had a farm across from us. We stayed with Uncle Ralph and Aunty Al for a few months that winter. Returned to Calgary until Dad got on work, then moved to Revelstoke while Dad worked at Stoney Creek Station. We went to Glacier in 1943 and moved from there to Sirdar 13 miles from Creston in 1948.
