George William James Wraight was born on 8 October 1899 in Williamstown, Colony of Victoria, the son of Adelaide (Dunn) Wraight and William Cheyne Wraight.^[1]

17 October 1917, George enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (with his parents permission), Service number: 3562^[2]. He was assigned to 8th Light horse Regiment, saw service in Egypt, attained the rank of Private, returned to Australia and was discharged on 15 April 1919.

Irene Mabel RICHMOND and George William James WRAIGHT were married in 1924 in Victoria, Australia^[3].

25 October 1939, George enlisted in the Australian Army, Service Number: VX133105 (V10967, V81839)^[2][4]. He was assigned to the REC Staffs Vic L of C Area, attained the rank of Captain and was discharged on 21 August 1945.

He passed away on 30 March 1969 in Geelong, Victoria, Australia ^[5] and was interred at the Geelong Western Public Cemetery^[6]
