Franklin Woody was born on March 5, 1830 in Lawrence, Indiana, United States, son of James Woody (1803–1877) and Rebecca Cole (~1804–<1840).[1]
At the time of the 1850 US Census, the Woody family was living in Shawswick, Lawrence, Indiana. The head of the household was James, and with him was wife, Asenath, and James' children, Ezra, John, Jeremiah, Joseph, Nancy, Robert, William, Thomas, Lucinda, and Ruth. James was farming with real estate worth $400.[2]
Franklin married Mary Jane Thorne 1 January 1851 in Lawrence, Indiana.[3]
Franklin was farming in 1880, in Jasper County, Iowa.[4]

20 Apr 1899: Franklin Woody of Lake City visited his brother John Woody.[5]
In 1900, Franklin was living with his son, Levi, in Lake City, Calhoun, Iowa.[6]
In 1905, Frank was living in Calhoun, Harrison, Iowa.[7]
Frank died 28 February 1908 in Iowa. He is buried in the Cottonwood Cemetery, Lake City, Calhoun County, Iowa.[1]
