Hazel Joyce (Woods) Priday was born on 3 May 1922 in Peak Hill, New South Wales, Australia, daughter of Arthur Albert Woods (1889–1950) and Esther (McCarron) Woods (1892–1977).^{[1] [2]}

Hazel (20) married James Keith Murray (26) (born on 4 Mar 1916 in Peak Hill) on 13 Jun 1942 in Paddington, New South Wales. ^[3]
