Biography

Mary Wood, or Woode, was born 14 Oct 1690 in New Kent County, Colony of Virginia. Her parents were John Edward Wood and Mary Ann Billingsley.

She married John Reynolds as recorded in the St Peter's Parish record, New Kent, Colony of Virginia

Their daughter Cicely Reynolds was b 1719 in Virginia and she married John Palmore between 1737-1740, probably in Cumberland County, Virginia.

Two deeds appeared in the Virginia Genealogist, V 30, no 2, 1986 pgs 115-116. Abstracted Details: 26 Jan 1753 John Reanolds Senr of St Peter Parish in county of New Kent, sells to William Spencer 50 acres on Canale Branch, crosses Lanquester's Mill..Manheis Anderson line, Wit Samuel Snead, Lancelot Lancaster and James S---g. Rec County New Kent 14 June 1753.

14 Feb 1756 John Ruunalds of St Peter sells 50 acres to Archelus Rannolds, part of which John Rannolds currently lives on. Originally purchased by his father of Thomas Sneed. Rec County New Kent 9 Sep 1756.

John Reynolds will dated 21 Mar 1760, Southam, Cumberland County, Colony of Virginia named his wife Mary. Issue Cecily, Mary, Martha, Sarah, Obadiah, Anna and Lurania. Executors were his wife Mary, son Charles and Samuel Taylor. He also mentioned a tract of land that his mother lived on in North---County.

John Reynolds died bef 22 Oct 1770 in Southam, Cumberland County, Colony of Virginia. This was date of probate. His wife Mary DID NOT predecease him on 1 April 1757. She was mentioned in his will dated 21 Mar 1760. She probably died in Cumberland County, Colony of Virginia.
