Biography

Henry was the son of Arthur Wood and Hallie King.

Harry was born on 30 Apr 1870 in probably St John's, Newfoundland and baptisted on 29 May 1870. ^[1][2]

He immigrated to the United States in 1891 probably to Tennessee. He had moved to Knoxville Tennessee by 1899, when his mother moved from the colony of Newfoundland to Knoxville. ^[3][4]

He was living in Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, by 1900 working as a clerk in a dry goods store and living with his mother and sister Elizabeth.^[5]

He was married to Mary Brownlow on 15 Apr 1903, in Knox County, Tennessee, United States. ^[6]

He lived in Civil District 12, Knox, Tennessee, United States in 1940 and Barbourville, Knox, Kentucky, United States.^[7]

The 1940 US census lists him as a 69 yr old, widower, Newfoundland born, office manager of a manufacturing company - mining equipment, home owner, living in Knoxville TN.^[8]

He worked for Mugg & Myers mining machinery manufacturers & sales as an officer in the company. He died on 29 March 1951, in St Mary's Hospital, Knoxville, Knox, Tennessee, United States. ^[9][10]and was buried in Old Gray Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee, USA Lot 622, MEMORIAL ID239561150^[11]
