Biography

Philip Lovel Wood of Grove House, Scarisbrick Street, Southport, second-lieutenant, Royal Flying Corps, died on or since 4 Mar 1917 in France of Belgium. Administration Liverpool 9 Feb to Mary Wood, spinster.[1]

"Philip was last seen flying in a Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter No A1109, over Lens at 10.55am. He is officially listed as missing, killed in action. His father was a Southport Alderman."[2]
