Hi Thomas

Just checking in with you to see how it is going, I hope you found the How to  pages and links useful. We want to help you learn about the site and the community, so if or when you have questions, ask in our G2G forum https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/  or click REPLY below this message, to ask me

If you click your green tags it will show you members who are also following that tag. Add tags for family and other surnames. You can also add tags for locations or interests - explore the project link for these.  Tags link you to the community sourcing & research options, to add more tags (you can have 20) go to  your tags

You can find more information about tags here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Tags.

Have a look and explore Projects click Here to see which project might be helpful for your research

PPS. Please avoid the use of abbreviations as they can mean different things in different countries, always use the full words

Thanks Mindy

Been taking it slow and kinda' learning as I go.

There is a lot here to understand - not much for How-To pages.

Slowly catching on - started this work about 6 years ago when several of migrant kids asked.

Figured it would take a couple weeks - boy got that wrong, maybe several lifetimes.

Let me know if you have any great revelations.

I would suggest starting with the How-to pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.

I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a “name” back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site

Happy tree climbing

Hi Thomas thank you for your email. You have one more thing to do and that is to volunteer your tree and add surname tags. Directions are below in order to do this.

To Volunteer just add any surnames of interest into Tags so that you have one tag for each surname and location. By doing that, when you are confirmed as a full member you can then click on those tags, and you'll be taken to a page where you'll see other genealogists who are also following those surnames and locations. I really encourage you to explore the connections it helps you make. :-)

Also Note There is a button to click at the bottom of the page that says Add tags and Volunteer. It is rectangular.

When you have done that one of our Greeters will confirm you as a full member so that you can Edit your Profile and enter information into WikiTree. Wiki Tree Greeter ~ Andrea Pack
