"Lady" Elizabeth Winter was the daughter of Sir William Winter of Lidney and his wife, Maria (Langton) Winter. She was born in 1564 in Lidney (aka Lydney), Monmouth shire, Wales (today, it is located in Gloucestershire, England). Lady Elizabeth was the first wife of Sir William Morgan of Tredegar, b: ca. 1560 in Tredegar, Gwent, Wales. They married in 1583 and had the following children.[1]
Lady Elizabeth (Winter) Morgan died in January 1638 in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England.[2] Her husband re-married to Bridget Morgan, widow of Anthony Morgan of Llanfihangael Crucorney, and daughter of Anthony Morgan of Heyford Northamptonshire, England. [3] Sir William Morgan was a friend and loyal supporter of King Charles I, even during the English Civil War. He died in 1653 at 93 years old at Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. [4]

In the will of her father made on 01 Feb 1588/1589[6] she was bequeathed £1200 and appears to have been unmarried.
In the will of her grandmother, Lady Judde, the will made on 20 Feb 1596/1597 and proved on 19 Feb 1601/1602[7], the Testatrix made a bequest to her 'daughter Morgan'. It is unclear if the daughter Morgan referred to in the will is this Elizabeth (Winter) Morgan or her aunt Elizabeth (Langton) Morgan.
