Biography

Dr. Dick Winston Sr. served in the United States Coast Guard in World War II

He graduated from the University of Georgia and Georgia Medical College. During World War II he served with the Public Health Service attached to the United States Coast Guard. After discharge, he established his medical practice in Tifton. He moved to Valdosta in 1953.

He married Clara Stedman Puckett in 1940 in Tifton, Georgia. They had five children together, two sons, and three daughters.

He passed away in 1998 in Valdosta, Georgia, and was buried in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
