"Squire M.W. Wimmer Friday morning received the sad intelligence that his sister, Mrs. Magdalena Hornung had died Thursday night at 8 o'clock at her home in Dresden, of phthisic. Mrs. Hornung had attained the age of 72 years and was married to Frederick Hornung in 1854. He proceeded her to the grave a year ago. She was a woman of beautiful character and an exemplary christian. The funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock the Rev. Fr. Duan officiating. She leaved five daughters, Lizzie Burch and Addie Hare of Dresden, Fanny Brown of Newark, Tillie, still at home and Theresa who is married and lives in Zanesville and one son, John Hornung, the Dresden banker.
