John Willson was born about 1670. He wrote his will on 15th January 1721, it was proved on 7th April 1722, Cecil Co., Maryland.
There was no mention of a wife in his will, nor of children. It is speculated that since he left a calf to Jeremiah York, that Jeremiah's wife was Wilson's daughter.
"There is no contemporary record of the name of Jeremiah’s first wife’s name. Her given name is assumed to be Sarah by most York genealogists based on this name appearing frequently in subsequent generations. I could make the same argument for “Susannah.” The wife’s likely father is John Willson, which is spelled with “ll” not one “l,” per the gift of a calf to Jeremiah in his will. This is an inheritance gift that was traditionally given to a daughter, via to her husband if she is married. I would delete the “Ann” as totally hypothetical and an unnecessary embellishment." [2]
